Have a Very Merry Christmas

This will, I imagine, be my last post before Christmas.

I’m looking forward to a cosy and comfortable Christmas as we speak (or I type).

I find certain bits of Christmas very stressful, the being bought gifts thing for one. I adore buying presents for other people, but get really worked up about receiving them – I’m sure that is actually supposed to be the other way round.

My Christmas cards are written (and mostly sent), my presents are wrapped, the house is sorted and the clothes are packed for the trip. We spend Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with my Mum, Dad, Sister and Grandma, before lunching with OH’s Parents. Then we go off to my Nana and Grandad’s before heading back to my Parents. Then on Boxing Day we have second Christmas Dinner cooked by the talented Chef my Nana. It’s a lot of travelling over the three days, but it’s worth it because I get to see everyone, and that’s what it is all about to me, spending time with the people you love most in the world.

Every year to help my Mum out with the Christmas Eve Buffet I bring some food, it just takes the pressure off a little. Most years I bring my home-made gingerbread, last year I brought Bailey’s and White Chocolate Fudge. This year I was so impressed and inspired by Sprinkle Bakes’ Cookie Dough Chocolate Bombe I just had to make it.

Guess what? It looks bleeding fantastic! However my Glaze didn’t quite go right – not sure if it was too much chocolate or too cold kitchen. Cue me scraping Chocolate gunk onto my cake and spreading it with a spatula, whilst running late. Same as every Christmas then!

(apologies for the photo quality, by the time I managed to get a photo it was on the table set for eating!)

I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas and New Year however you are spending it.
